Meet Our Summer 2018 Team!

ASUS Camps prides itself each year in creating and fostering an amazing team of camp counsellors! Our staff of twelve dedicates itself to ensuring that each camper has an inclusive, accessible, and incredible experience every day at camp. Each counsellor brings something unique to the table to spark creativity and imagination in all campers; in fact, all of our counsellors attended Queen’s University this past year as students themselves! This summer, they cannot wait to pass on all of their knowledge to each camper. All ASUS Camps staff are required to have a valid, completed Vulnerable Sector Police Check, as well as their Standard First Aid and CPR-C training. In addition, staff spend two weeks prior to the start of camp preparing their classrooms and participating in training sessions to ensure that campers have a safe and spectacular time at ASUS Camps! They cannot wait for the camp fun to begin!

Last year Ellise was a counsellor at ASUS Camps, and she is so thrilled to be back as the Director for ASUS Camps Summer 2018! She is currently finishing up her fourth year of Concurrent Education, studying Mathematics and Geography. This fall, she will be starting teacher’s college here at Queen’s! Ellise is extremely passionate about education, making new friends, and travelling all around the world to learn about different cultures! Her absolute favourite thing about camp is getting to be silly and have fun all summer long. Ellise is so excited to see all of the campers from last summer again, and to make so many new friends this summer!

Charlotte has just finished up her 4th year in the Concurrent Education program, and hopes to be a teacher someday.  Although her dog Lucy is her best pal (feel free to ask her for fun stories about Lucy!), she truly aspires to own a pet pig (which is not yet allowed in her hometown of Toronto).  She loves adventures, and to date her favourite one has been climbing through the clouds in the mountains of Ecuador. She has many years of camp experience under her belt, both as a camper and staff member, but this year, she is SO excited for her first summer at ASUS Camps and can’t wait to meet all of her campers!!
